Since you have access to the web, you can save some money while we save paper, postage, and other resources. The idea is to use information here on the web to build and enjoy your kit, instead of paper we print and mail to you.

You may obtain online (previously called "bare-bones") versions of the Lunar Prospector, the Galileo, the Voyager, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Magellan, and the Mars Global Surveyor Space Craft™ SCIENCE KITs for only $7.95 each or $5.95 each when ordering 10 or more (mix or match models) postpaid in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Add $5.50 to total order for shipping elsewhere. In California, add 8% sales tax.

The Keck Telescope kit is only available as a fully-packaged version; the Mars Polar Lander (MPL) is only available in one version: the $2.95 MPL kit is very simple, and has instructions printed right on the one Parts Sheet.

We Only Mail You the Parts

An online Space Craft™ SCIENCE KIT contains only the laser-cut parts sheets (sometimes trimmed to reduce postage), plus some cardboard to minimize bending in the mail. The Voyager comes with a styrofoam antenna dish. An online Space Craft™SCIENCE KIT does not include the Assembly Instructions, the Presentation Guides, or the Fact Sheets. Nor does it include the plastic packaging, with its color printed, die-cut, stapled bag top.

    What is the Zend Optimizer?

    The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been available without charge, since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by scanning PHP's intermediate code and passing it through multiple Optimization Passes to replace inefficient code patterns with more efficient code blocks. The replaced code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

    In addition to improving performance, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Guard.

    The Zend Optimizer is a free product available for download from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies also developed the PHP scripting engine, known as the Zend Engine.
